High pressure:
the thermal mistral is present, but not with the same frequency as in the Quercianella Vada section. Characteristics are the midday thermal breezes that originate when the high pressure is leveled and has reached a high humidity level. This condition is typical of the short section of Donoratico - San Vincenzo. In this phase of high pressure, keep in mind that the thermal mistral no longer blows in any other spot, so this area remains the only one to make breeze exits even reaches 15-18 knots.
Low pressure:
Low pressure: it is an ideal point to make exits taking advantage of the sirocco winds, which at this point easily reach high intensities. Unfortunately the waves are generally not consistent, except in the case of libeccio and ponente waves. Practitioners concentration: medium.
How to get:both from the south and from the north via the Aurelia variant, with an exit at Donoratico; as soon as you exit you will find a roundabout, turn left, then follow the signs for Marina di Castagneto Carducci or Donoratico. In Donoratico you can actually go out in three different spots (depending on the season): the dog beach is the northernmost spot where you can go out with some precaution even in high season. The so-called fortress or the beach in front of the town can only be used in winter. Finally to the south the beach of the former med club is often semi-deserted and therefore practicable for most of the year (to get there you have to walk a little).
Beach
This spot is characterized by sandy beaches without dangers to be detected apart from the umbrellas in the summer and some construction of the bathing establishments.
Sea
The water is rather low and at sea there are no dangers to be detected. The wave is linked to the perturbations related to the western squares.
Wind
This is the scirocco spot. However, the west and north-west wind also enter, though weaker than elsewhere.
